Project Coordinator
Manuela Pia Ortiz, MPH, is a Project Coordinator for ECHO-Chicago. In their free time, you can find Manuela taking neighborhood strolls, learning new art skills, watching indie films, or growing their K-pop album collection. They obtained their Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Population and Family Health and certificate in Health and Human Rights at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Manuela completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago, majoring in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES), with a specialization in Latina/o and Latin American Studies, and minoring in Human Rights. Prior to joining ECHO-Chicago, they have been an Academic Program Coordinator at Columbia Mailman, a Project Coordinator on the Child Sex Trafficking Action Team at the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a Docent at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago. Manuela’s commitment to social justice, human rights, and health equity is what drives their work with ECHO-Chicago.
